When I first made reservations to stay at Emi and Andreea’s place in Bucharest I had no idea what to expect. Little did I know that I was not only going to make some good friends, but also be given an inside look of the beginning of Bucharest Revealed, the newest tour company in the city.

The first indication that I would probably have a lot in common with these two was when I saw Good to Great by James Collins and a book by Rose & Milton Friedman (I believe it was Free to Choose) displayed prominently on their bookshelf. That saying, “don’t judge a book by its cover” went right out the window; these books were great indicators of their personalities.

I met Emi first, and had a great conversation about national debate and his work in transforming the Romanian education system through leading a series of train the trainer courses for teachers. Truly, he is the embodiment of someone with the heart of a teacher. Later that night, I had the chance to meet Andreea. At dinner, she explained how her travels and experience in business development had led her to revolutionizing the way visitors explored Bucharest. Confidence, technical know-how, and passion were present through the whole conversation; Andreea is a natural entrepreneur. In addition to witnessing the behind the scenes action (in the form of flow charts, to-do lists, and lean startup discussions), I was blessed to be taken on a pre-launch tour of the city.

I had previously been on a walking tour of Bucharest by a different tour company and there was a HUGE difference. The amount of knowledge, interaction, and friendliness in the Bucharest Revealed tour was amazing. If you will be in Bucharest, I highly suggest you book a tour today!
